Cranberries, oranges, bananas and spinach have so many wonderful health benefits, so I came up with a smoothie with all four of em in it! It is refreshing, energizing and satisfying, so I thought it would be perfect to share during this busy holiday season. It makes a great breakfast drink or a mid-day snack when you just need a little 'pick me up'!
Along with an excellent healthy choice, I will also list a few benefits of each ingredient.
Cranberries:
-vitamin c; perfect for this cold season
-fiber
-vitamin e
-help prevent uti's
Oranges
-vitamin c; more immune support!
-helps prevent cancer
-boosts heart health
won't spike your blood sugar- us busy moms don't need a sugar crash!
Spinach
-low in calories
-vitamin a, k and c
-folic acid
Bananas
-high levels of tryptophan- this is then converted into seratonin- happy mood for everyone!!
-sustains blood sugar
-helps relieve muscle cramps after workout or mid-night leg cramps
-natural antacid
Cranberry Orange Spinach Smoothie
1 banana
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup fresh cranberries
1 medium orange
1/2 cup ice
3/4 cup water
Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
